The School of Health Sciences is a dynamic and evolving work environment for the identification, evaluation, and prevention of diseases and disorders. At the School of Health Sciences, we provide four undergraduate programs which are Medical Imaging, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and Psychology. The School of Health Sciences trains future radiographers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists for promoting optimum health, and applies administration and management skills to support healthcare systems in a variety of settings.

Health sciences professionals apply scientific principles and evidence-based practice in order to optimize patient or client outcomes. Thus, the research is focused on health and education in the fields of medical imaging, disability research, medicine, occupational therapy, public health sciences, and psychology. We collaborate with the KPJ health care hospital, non-government organizations and education sectors in Malaysia as well as internationally. Medical Imaging

KPJU Medical Imaging Programme is educating its students to meet the growing demands of qualified professionals in this challenging fields. As medical imaging technology continues to advance and its techniques continue to refine and improve, these sciences become more essential to diagnosis and treatment of injury and disease. Hence, students of Bachelor of Medical Imaging and Diploma in Medical Imaging of KPJU are equipped with the high competency of technical skills and updated and broad-based knowledge in the field of radiography, which comprises of theory and practical components.

Our goal is to provide the highest quality teaching of radiography to the students through face to face and online learning methods. Our curriculum and syllabus is in line with the advancement of radiographic technology from time to time, to produce a fully-equipped graduate that is flexible and adaptive to the rapid change of technology.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy (PT), also known as Physical Therapy, is one of the Allied Health Professions, who promote, maintain, or restore health through physical examination, diagnosis, prognosis, patient education, physical intervention, rehabilitation, disease prevention and health promotions. Physical Therapist also known as Physiotherapist in many countries including Malaysia.

At KPJ Health University (KPJU), we conduct Diploma in Physiotherapy, Bachelor in Physiotherapy and Masters in Physiotherapy. The students are coached by experienced lecturers to become competent Physiotherapist in both theory and practical field, where their practical is based on campus as well as KPJ Hospitals throughout the country. They learn therapeutic exercises which consists of manual and mechanical therapy. Besides, they are also exposed to community-based rehabilitations such as children with species needs and general physical health screening as well as industries such as ergonomic needs and so on. Upon graduation, they will have opportunities working in government and private hospitals. They are also groomed to work independently by setting up their own Physiotherapy centers as entrepreneurs and working in sports centers, both locally and abroad.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is a client-centered   health profession concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational therapists achieve this outcome by working with people and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they want to, need to, or are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement.

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy ak KPJU, Nilai is a 4-year program and cover all area from orthopaedic and surgical, medical-neurological, paediatric, psychiatric, geriatric, return to work program, ergonomic, special education and others. Student will learn from highly competence and experienced Occupational Therapist who are skilled in occupations related care, education and research. They will acquire the knowledge and skills need to practice as a Occupational Therapist, using a combination of traditional and scenario-based learning and teaching methods.

Psychology

The Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) programme at KPJ Healthcare University  will provide students with key knowledge, training in analytical thinking and research and professional skills, with a strong focus in healthcare. Students will learn to use principles of psychology to observe, access and analyze human behavior in various settings. These skills will be the key to open opportunities to a broad range of careers for instance in education, healthcare, social work, administration and management setting and others.
