Computer Applications (BDAO 1002)
This course exposes the students to computer terminology, hardware, and software related to the business environment and will help students learn essential computer applications and Internet technology skills for personal, academic, and professional success. Students will effectively use a current Windows operating system and appropriate file management resources; apply word processing and desktop publishing functions to create, edit, manipulate, format, cite resources, print, and store common personal and business documents; apply spreadsheet functions to solve financial, mathematical, and statistical problems in business; create and edit charts and graphs to interpret spreadsheet data; design and create databases to extract, sort, calculate, and report business data; design, create, and execute an artistic and professional PowerPoint presentation which includes appropriate text formatting, graphics, animation, and public speaking skills, and use the Internet in an ethical manner to research, communicate, collaborate, and efficiently retrieve information.
Malaysian Healthcare System (BDAU 1002)
This course is offered to provide basic understanding on the structure and basic functions of the Malaysian Health System which would be able to facilitate adequate understanding and application in specific discipline of study related to healthcare environment. It is also to make the students understand about the Health operations management as it is the design, planning, and control of all of the steps necessary to provide a service for a client in healthcare businesses.
Human Anatomy & Physiology (BDAS 1004)
This course is design to study of anatomy and physiology and will familiarize the students to structures and functions of the human body. Anatomy describes the structures of the body while physiology studies the function of each structure, individually and in combination with other structures. The course is also to acquire a medical terminology vocabulary related to body systems necessary to communicate information in a medical office or hospital environment.
Terminology in Healthcare Management (BDAS 1013)
This course is design to study of the terminologies and abbreviation in healthcare system and to familiarize the language of medicine related to body systems necessary to communicate information in a medical office or hospital environment. Learners will be able to identify common prefixes, suffixes, roots and abbreviations so they can recognize most medical terms used by medical professionals. Learners will define, interpret, and pronounce medical terminologies relating to structure and function, pathology, diagnosis, clinical procedures, oncology and pharmacology.
English for Professional Communication (ENG 1012)
This course is designed to equip students with foundation skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students will be exposed to the strategies in effective listening and speaking; parts of speech, simple tenses, and the structure of 5-paragraph essay focusing on cause-effect genre.
Penghayatan Etika dan Peradaban/Appreciation of Ethics and Civilizations (MPU 2183)
This course prepares students to appreciate the ethics and civilisations present within Malaysia's multi-ethnic society. This is to strengthen their critical and analytical thinking skills, enabling them to navigate a more challenging life. The course content focuses on understanding ethics and civilisation within the Malaysian context.
