Introduction to Paediatric Health and Neonatology Nursing (PBPN 0113)
This course provides the paediatric nursing students with beginning
specialty knowledge in management of normal and high risk neonatology
in paediatric nursing practice. This course will benefits students in
addressing normal growth and development of children and basic
advanced principles in providing nursing care from birth to
adolescents.
Foundation of Paediatric Nursing - Basic Medical Sciences (PBPN 0122)
This course is applied the Anatomy & Physiology and Pharmacology of
paediatric nursing. It required knowledge of the structure and
functions of the human body organ system related to medical and
surgical in respective condition. This course also will benefits the
student in relations to apply the knowledge and performing nursing
care in paediatric nursing practice and it will promote quality of
paediatric care and safety.
Paediatric Nursing Science I (PBPN 0134)
This course offer the students about the common and specific
paediatric condition related to cardiovascular system, respiratory
system, gastrointestinal tract system, communicable disease and also
reviews on how paediatric nurses can promote to parents and children
on this conditions. This course also will provide the student on
overview to the nursing care of sick children with chronic health
condition, oncology disorders, and requiring emergency or critical
care. It's will benefits student as it will also highlight the
important of effective communication, counselling, health education
and availability other support healthcare facilities for children with
chronic or oncology disorders.
Fundamental of Paediatric Nursing Behavioural Sciences (PBPN 0142)
This course will provide the student on overview to the nursing care
of sick children with special needs and introduction to the profession
of paediatric nursing and how paediatric nurses can promote the health
of children and families by understanding the basis of communication,
and counselling in paediatric nursing practice will promote quality
child care and safety.
Paediatric Nursing Science II (PBPN 0153)
This course offer the students about the common and specific
paediatric condition related to neurological, musculoskeletal,
genitourinary, skin, endocrine and sensory system with the aim to
apply a specific assessment and plan of care holistically that
required for paediatric patient. Understanding the diseases related
that particular body system will enhance the optimal care given to
patients and parents and promote quality patient care and patient
safety.
Paediatric Nursing Practice (PBPN 0166)
This course allows the students to practice and apply knowledge
in-depth to provide high quality of care to paediatric patients with
disorders of respiratory, CVS, GIT, communicable disease,
neurological, musculoskeletal, genitourinary, skin, endocrine and
sensory problems as well as high risk neonates. This course also
review on how Paediatric nurse can promote to the parent and children
by understanding the health education and support children and their
families with special needs children with blood and cancer disorder
and children requiring emergency or critical care during clinical
nursing practice. Exposure and experiences gathered during practicum
allows the students to understand and relate the knowledge learned.
