A significant aspect of the curriculum involves instructing students on effectively utilizing the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10) as a worldwide reference book. This specialization will empower students to gain an in-depth understanding of the system and its applications. A distinguishing feature of the program is the incorporation of practical experience, wherein students will have the invaluable opportunity to participate in real-world practices within the Medical Record Department. This hands-on approach will be facilitated through practical postings at our esteemed 26 selected KPJ Specialist Hospitals, allowing students to implement theory and develop practical skills. Moreover, the program boasts a team of highly qualified academics with extensive industry experience in their respective fields. Diploma Health Information Management offers a great opportunity to work at KPJ Healthcare Group as well as in Government and Private Hospitals in Malaysia and abroad. The positions offered are Medical Record Officer/Health Information Officer (Clinical Coder), Insurance Coder, Marketing Officer, and Information Officer. Diploma graduates may also choose to further their Bachelor’s Degree programs in Healthcare Information Systems or Information Systems in General.
